“I am now declaring you ISO aligned!”
Clamoring applause surrounded the White Hall as Mr. Juan C. Aquino, Quality Management consultant from the Total Quality Management Office of Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority, resoundingly announced the results of the Final Audit for ISO-Alignment on July 18.
The conduct of audit focused on posting of DepEd vision, mission and core values, organizational structure, feedback boxes, workplace 5S (sorting, systematizing, shine, standardization, self-discipline), monitoring tools, and filing system where Schools Division Office (SDO), School Governance and Operations Division (SGOD), and Curriculum Implementation Division (CID) incurred no minor or major non-compliance.
“Ang ganda ng ginawa ninyo. Pwede kayong i-benchmark,” Aquino stressed during the announcement.
All units and offices had undergone major changes with clearer procedural and work instructional manuals, quality forms, and routing slips for tracking of papers.
“Streamlining the organization, reorganizing our processes, letting go of old practices coupled with our concerted efforts, cooperation, and willingness to embrace change to cope with international standards, napakaganda ng naging resulta,” Dr. Noel L. Linsao, OIC-ASDS and ISO certification focal person shared in an interview.
The original time plan was to acquire the ISO certification by December but the certification was scheduled way earlier on August 16. “We have done it in a short span of time. Everything is in place. It is just a matter of waiting,” Linsao answered when asked about the certification.
Tarlac Province’s ISO 9001:2015 journey started on May 12 with all division personnel attending the Awareness and Foundation Course. Next stages subsequently followed on Documentation System, Risk Assessment for QMS, Practice of Good Housekeeping, and Internal Quality Audit.
The Pre-Assessment will be on July 31, to be followed by Assessment Stage 1 on August 9 and Stage 2 on August 13-16. Results of these assessments will speak of SDO-Tarlac Province’s compliance to standards of ISO 9001:2015.
